Valentine's Day Cards

I have been trying to incorporate stitching in some card making but haven't had a chance yet. It just ads another dimension to hand made. These valentine's day cards by "Fold" are so cool! She also makes some amazing wire cards that I will be featuring very soon. Stay tuned...

Map Decor

Apartment therapy must have read my mind when they posted their "Map Happy Home Offices" post. I am in love with all of these settings and can't wait to find a large scale map to fit our new office when we move in May. If anyone finds a LARGE "vintagey" world map, let me know! I would love an 8' x 10' or something close to that.

I have been feeling very thrifty lately and want to work with my hands to create something new from something old! I found Salvage One which saves architectural elements from the wrecking ball. "We have been helping our customers breathe new life into salvaged materials for nearly 30 years. We aim to take salvage further by working with you to add creativity and style to your space. I am going to try and get down to their space this week to find some thrifty stuff! Look at a few of the things they have...
Antique Plywood and cast iron church seats

The Countdown

My sister in law is having a baby! She is due in the middle of march and I'm at her shower today. I have been thinking alot lately about weather or not I would find out the sex of my baby. I am such a planner- I feel like I would have to know. We'll see- we are definately not there yet!

Vintage Friday!

Check out these cool Vintage Elevated Dog Feeders! I have been looking for one for Myko so she stops burping every time she eats. We can store stuff underneath too. Perfect.

This one is from Chicago- so meant to be.

Rustic Barnwood Frames

I am admiring these amazing Barnwood Frames from Paradise Hill's Design shop on Etsy! They would be perfect for our outdoor photos to adorn the revised vintage picture wall!

Tactile Extraordinaire

I am always looking for good letterpress inspiration and I always end up on the Dolce Press blog drooling over their stuff. This business card is another amazing example of their work. They have painted the edges in a bright orange, rounded the corners and kept the rest simple in a blind emboss and light gray text. Nothing cries simple taste like these.

It's all in the details

I was browsing Etsy again and found this amazing children's t-shirt, onesie line by b. children's wear. It's like mini j crew! This would be such a great shower gift or kids birthday gift.
I love the celedon on charcoal shown here...

Hanging the map

My husband and I were talking one day and found out we both had an odd obsession with maps! We have a couple amazing big ones now and i've been trying to figure out how to hand them. This is what I had in mind... (Dowel on the top and bottom) But I can't figure out how the map would be attached! Any suggestions?

Rediculously cool Michigan wedding...

Being from Michigan, I was automatically intrigued with this Mackinac Island wedding. When i looked at the pictures, I was in love with the feel the bride created. It is so cohesive with Mackinac Island- bikes, candy and carriages. Love it!

Need a lift?

The Bikedispenser= genius! This concept is amazing!!! There have been so many times when I've been walking down the street wishing I had a bike to get me to my destination faster. I have my own bike, but can you imagine the convenience of this? The Bikedispenser is described by its Dutch designers as a mobility solution. Members purchase a card that is swiped through the machine, dispensing them a bicycle for up to 24 hours for about $3.75. Right now they only have 2 locations in The Netherlands so I don't think Chicago is next on their list, but I'm crossing my fingers!

Looking forward to spring

I got Boden's spring catalog in the mail last night and was so impressed!
Here are some highlights...

The detail in this jacket make it look so clean and preppy...

This fabric looks so soft and cozy but also has a flattering
plunge neckline and gathers in the middle!Covering all the details...
I love when little details "sneak" up on you like
the stripes in the hood of this hoodyI must have their must have their "Must have shopper"
