I just came across this amazing designer- Elise Bergman! Her stuff is so feminine and comfortable looking. She has a new showcase at Roslyn in Chicago opening this week- 2035 North Damen Avenue. Here are some of my faves...

Repetition
The design element that everyone overlooks. Make a pattern on the wall with plates, put a pile of lemons on the table, cluster some pendant lamps in one area. It creates a modern artistic element in any space!

Remember Leanne?
Leanne was the winner of Project Runway last season and I loved her collection she designed all by herself. She's continued to keep the flowing wave element in her latest collection and still sewed the one below all by herself! Check out her blog...
I can't wait...
To design my own kitchen!!! I have been dreaming of my own custom kitchen well since I put my first metal pot in the microwave in home ec class. (obviously my first cooking experience) I have been helping two people to re-model their kitchens and it's been torture! Both have amazing taste and are using everything I would use for my own kitchen. Here are some inspirational photos I hope to implement some day :)
I just love the clean white palate used here. The glass mosaic tile backsplash is amazing and I am dying for a pot filler! I also really like the different colored island. It creates a different space within the kitchen. This one gives off a vintage feel. I love the black and white ice cream counter marble. Hello natural light! Someone must have photoshoped my silhouette out of the far window drinking my coffee bacause I already see myself here :)
Soapstone (the counter top material used here) is my new favorite countertop! It's like granite but has this great soft feeling to it. The colors are amazing. Oh and viking appliances- need i say more?!

Apple Fest Weekend
This weekend we traveled up to Northern Michigan for the apple fest which highlights local orchards and growers. It was such a brisk fall day- we even saw a little snow! There were more than 30 types of apples including some "antique" varieties. Other than the apple fest, we spent alot of time running/walking on Barn Mountain (some new locals call it Avalanche) with the dogs admiring the fall colors and pushing our lung capacities.

No More Bruised Apples
Yesterday, I went to the apple fest in Northern Michigan and to my delight found this little treasure today! Do you ever get to work and three hours later remember that you had an apple in your purse? Or the apple falls out of the bag and dribbles across the sidewalk? Here is a stylish solution from Hermes for your fresh fruit troubles. So cute!

Frame the Date
This is a GREAT gift idea for weddings, baby showers, or any special event! First of all, Young house love has some great stories- I am already addicted! They featured Frame the date who uses your images to create a framed collage to represent a date. These pictured below are so elegant, but they do colorful and fun as well.

Love it!
I just saw this the other day at a little shop and love it! Ork Posters has been making the neighborhood posters below that I have also been drooling over, but being from Michigan I have to get my hands on this one!

Cupcake Cravings
Just some images reflecting the cupcake craze that's been going on for the last couple of years! They are everywhere! I wish I had kids to take to the cute little bakeries all over Chicago.

It's not always stylish being green
But this Manhattan couple have pulled it off! I came across this apartment on re-nest and fell in love with the amount of greenery in their home! My favorite smell is fresh cut grass- can you imagine waking up to that?! They've created some great spaces. Take a gander...

Production at Greet Design!
I've been putting together some wedding invitations for a couple celebrating in Mexico! Check out the fun colors they chose for their invites. The invitation is a folder of information for the guests to travel with. I love the rich "night" colored folders and poppy color- they compliment each other so well! The simple floral design continues onto the back of the envelope.
