Fall Bliss!
Well, it's 50 degrees and sunny here in Chicago today! Most people are mourning the end of summer. On the contrary, I am welcoming the beginning of Fall. There is nothing more satisfying than a brisk morning walk with Myko (our golden retriever) with the sun beating down on your face. Hello big comfy sweaters, pumpkin spice latte's and fireplaces filled with warmth! Here are some fall inspired wedding details I am admiring at the moment...

Blown Away!
This invitation is the most simple yet creative I've seen in a while! I love the RED against white and letterpress text on great paper. Designed by Office Optimist . This is bound to create a smile... (and maybe make you a little light headed)

I also love the concept of their celebration- a week of cooking, laughing, go carting, croquet, relaxing... What's better than a week with your friends and family?!

I am truly amazed by this letterpress invitation by Burning House , a web design, graphic and illustration studio in San Fransisco. I can imagine everyone that received that invite still has it on their fridge. So impressive!

Tactile Extraordinaire
I am always looking for good letterpress inspiration and I always end up on the Dolce Press blog drooling over their stuff. This business card is another amazing example of their work. They have painted the edges in a bright orange, rounded the corners and kept the rest simple in a blind emboss and light gray text. Nothing cries simple taste like these.

Letterpress Business Cards
This week, I printed my first order for letterpress business cards! Even though they are for my mom. (We have to build portfolio's somehow!) I started with the amazing cranes #220 cotton stock and blind pressed the background pattern. I then followed that up with glossy black ink that created a nice contrast with the smooth cotton paper. I was so excited when the back and front lined up I almost shouted out loud in the studio. For those of you who don't letterpress, I had to switch plates and line it up perfectly to do the back design. These cards used three plates to create the overall product. Thanks to Stacy from Steracle press who was my letterpress teacher!

Letterpress Business Cards
I have been trying to find a letterpress class to take here in Chicago and was signed up for one until they called to tell me there were not enough people enrolled and it was going to be canceled. I was so bummed. You can imagine my disappointment after seeing these incredible business cards from Dolce Press. If anyone knows of a class or anyone looking for a desperate apprentice, please let me know! I have also been experimenting with edge painting. It's so pretty and not that hard to make something look very unique!
