West Elm Stria Storage

I was just perusing the new arrivals at West Elm and found the Stria Storage collection! I am in love with the raw look of the wood, the texture and the rustic grain
After I found this, I decided to look at Crate and Barrel's site to see what they had to compare and found the Sierra collection which is about 1.5 times the price of the West Elm Collection for a smaller dresser!!! My husband has taught me to shop around and I have now gotten to the point that I get giddy when I find a deal!

I'm a fan of Ash

I'm loving the ash veneer collection at West Elm! The lines on the Grace Round Expandable Dining Table make it look like a designer piece. You could never get a designer piece for $424 though. That's why I love West Elm so much. Classic pieces for a lesser price and great value. When I was finally ready to graduate from my Ikea coffee table, I took the plunge and bought the Modular Coffee table which we continually get compliments on! Here are some items from the ash line that you might find worth trashing old stuff and welcoming some beautiful new things :)

Costco to the Rescue

I am a huge fan of Costco! Every time someone comes over for dinner we usually have something from the amazing warehouse. Our dog sleeps on a Costco bed and eats Costco food, my husband cannot leave without a slab of ribs (because "they are SUCH a good deal"), our car insurance is through Costco, our mini bar would not exist if Costco were not around... The list could go on and on! They never cease to amaze me with the things they sell. This stainless steel storage unit (found by apartment therapy) is pretty high up on the list of good finds. Although sold as a "tool box" I could find many other uses for this! My office could definitely use the extra wide doors for large paper as well as the durable top for gluing and cutting. Some would even say a kitchen island! What would you use the "stainless steel box for"?

Sit Down!

Busy, busy, busy! I just want to sit down and relax! Speaking of sitting, I just found out about these designerly chairs by Kenneth Cobonpue. They are so architectural but evoke a calm feeling that I have been yearning for lately! I hope your lives haven't been as crazy as mine lately. Enjoy...

Salvage One

I have been feeling very thrifty lately and want to work with my hands to create something new from something old! I found Salvage One which saves architectural elements from the wrecking ball. "We have been helping our customers breathe new life into salvaged materials for nearly 30 years. We aim to take salvage further by working with you to add creativity and style to your space. I am going to try and get down to their space this week to find some thrifty stuff! Look at a few of the things they have...

Inspired by the Clawfoot Tub

I have been drawn to vintage bathroom images lately...

Here is one where they painted the bottom of the tub and sink to match the wall color. It brings a little modern flair to the room.
Keep it simple w/ soft whites and an old bench.

I love the chandelier in this image. They completed the rustic vintage look w/ tin ceiling tiles on the wall and metal sitting chair next to the tub.

Coffee Table Inspiration

Now that we are over the puppy stage of chewing on furniture, we need a new coffee table. I have been brainstorming some ideas to get pricing from my millworker. I'm thinking of using some reclaimed materials and putting the table on big casters since I have to repetitively vacuum the dog hair off the living room rug. Here's my inspiration so far...

If i could find some wood like this, I would be very satisfied!
I am looking around for a reclaimed metal/iron table base to use with a new top.

Clean Seat

I love the clean soft lines of this chair. I keep trying to use it in all my projects, but it's a little pricey so it get's substituted every time. I need a big spender client!!
